About Me - Emma Ooi – Walking Dogs for You Owner and Dog Walker
My family lived in Gippsland on a dairy and pig farm. I was surrounded by animals and many hours were spent in the outdoors. Our dogs, while working with us, were very much a part of the family. We also had cats and fish. I have a strong love and respect of both working and domesticated animals.
Like, many young people from the country, I left home to further my education. I lived in Bairnsdale and then moved to Melbourne to complete my business degree. My first job was at the RVIB Braille Library in customer, library and administrative services. I then worked for almost a decade providing direct client support and leading business support teams.
I love meeting and working with people, learning from them and giving back to the community. I have lived in Pakenham, Victoria in the Cardinia Shire since 2003. The community has made me feel welcome and I want to make a positive contribution to it. I also recognise that Pakenham is a growing and diverse community with residents from different backgrounds and needs.
In developing the business I recognised that I needed to ensure I had been trained and gained experiences with animals to do this properly. I have successfully completed training in identifying and responding to animal behaviour. This included specific training and experience in
assessing, interpreting, anticipating and responding appropriately to dog behaviour in different environments. I have developed an understanding of mixed breeds and pure breeds and I am trained in Animal First Aid. Most of all, I learn each day, with each animal I spend time with.
If you have logged on then I guess you may share my love of animals or dogs. My business continues to evolve and I will continue to learn. If you have some suggestions or thoughts you would like to share with me please feel free to do so. I welcome you to Walking Dogs for You and hope that you find it helpful.
